Jive Craft is a brand new Modern-Jive dance company which has been chosen by 1st Move to manage their weekly Thursday night classes at Uckfield Civic Centre and also holds regular freestyle dances plus workshops at Hickstead, West Sussex. Steve and Julie have been regular teachers at Uckfield for the past two years and are proud to have been chosen to continue teaching there. Jive Craft has two of the best venues in the South-East with plenty of room for dancing, great music and a fun and friendly atmosphere. Having only recently taken over the running of the 1st Move venue at Uckfield we are pleased to be teaching there every week and look forward to welcoming everyone through the doors. We retain our freestyle/workshop venue at Hickstead Showground and so remember to keep an eye out for things going on there! Weekly lessons start on Thursdays at The Uckfield Civic Centre at 8pm. There is a licensed bar, and lounge area, plus a superbly sprung dance floor, everybody comments that it is a very friendly atmosphere and has a nice social feel. Beginners lessons start at 8pm with 3-4 moves broken down into easy to manage sections. With some music to practice to after the lesson finishes at around 8.40pm. More seasoned dancers can attend the Intermediate lesson at 9pm with new and interesting moves and some more advanced moves to help you expand your repertoire. After lessons the Freestyle resumes, this is where you can practice what you have learnt or simply 'show what you know'!. Steve Howard and Julie Bass founded Jive Craft to provide alternative independant venues in the South East and have been teaching for several years throughout the South-East, plus performing Cabarets and providing music and entertainment at weddings and events. Workshops and freestyles will be held throughout the year. Remember - You'll have more fun and lots of laughter, when you become a real JiveCrafter! |
